Musical Team

Our Music Ministry delights in bringing a message of love, hope, peace, and healing to our audience. Each Sunday brings something fresh and new, with our musicians playing inspirational music in a variety of styles. We believe music is food for the soul.  We believe music is prayer.  We believe music is an important part of growth in our spiritual lives, helping us to realize our oneness with each other and Divine Spirit, and to feel the warm embrace of our loving Creator.  If you’re interested in being a part of our music team in any way, please contact Laura DuBois at ladubois@gmail.com

Music Director Laura DuBois knows no greater joy than sharing the beauty of music with the general public. She is an active recitalist, chamber player, music director and teacher.  She holds a BM in Piano Performance from the University of North Texas, a MM in Piano Performance from the University of Miami, and has completed all but her dissertation for a DMA in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Miami.  Before coming to Unity of the Valley in 2015, she was the musical director at Unity Church by the Shore in Neptune, NJ, where she had the great pleasure of providing music for the church, as well as directing two performing ensembles. From 2001 until 2015, she was on the faculty at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ, where she taught piano, music appreciation, and music theory, and served as the accompanist for the Music & Theatre Department.  Since 1987, she has enjoyed teaching piano privately, and has maintained a robust studio of aspiring pianists.   Throughout all the years of her career, she has presented engaging and informative chamber music recitals.  She currently resides in Blachly, with her husband, Gary Collins.

Choir Director Mo Robeson joined Unity of the Valley’s awesome music team in 2016. She brings a wealth of talent and experience with her. She has performed for over 50 years with dozens of choirs and ensembles, and as a soloist with many groups, including the Eugene Concert Choir, the Oregon Mozart Players, and the Honolulu Chorale and Symphony. Mo has served as volunteer choir director for the Eugene Friends Church for 20 years, and for the City Singers (a choir of City of Eugene employees) for 15 years. She just completed her 20th year with the Motet Singers (a 12-voice women’s ensemble), and her 7th year as director of In Accord (a 45-voice community choir).
